Summer 2026 – Week 2: Starting 27th July
Monday – Thursday, 10am to 3pm
£40 per day, or all 4 days for £130

Recommend age 7 and up, however if your child is younger and you feel they would be able to concentrate on one activity for 45 minutes, then please do book them in.

A relaxed and inspiring creative space for anyone wanting to develop a more personal, thoughtful, and playful approach to artmaking. Sketchbooking is a workshop series centred around the idea that a sketchbook can become more than just a place for drawings—it can be a space for ideas, reflection, experimentation, storytelling, and creative freedom.

Across the sessions, you will explore a variety of approaches to creative journaling, sketchbook techniques, mixed media, mark making, collage, drawing, painting, and written reflection. Each workshop will introduce new prompts, materials, and artistic inspiration, encouraging you to build confidence in expressing yourselves visually without the pressure of creating “finished” artwork.

This is a space to slow down, observe, collect ideas, and develop a creative habit that feels authentic and personal. Whether your sketchbook becomes a visual diary, an ideas book, a travel journal, or a place to experiment freely, the focus is on process, curiosity, and creative growth.

You can attend individual sessions or come for the whole 4 days to gradually build a rich and evolving creative practice.

We will have 40 minute lunch break – please bring lunch with you to enjoy in the studio. Alternatively you can take a walk down the High Street where there are a couple of cafes to choose from if you’re old enough to go on your own.

To book workshops:
Monday, 27th July 2026
Tuesday, 28th July 2026
Wednesday, 29th July 2026
Thursday, 30th July 2026
All 4 days

Please see more information on the people behind Arty Farty Retreat, and our refund policy.

We believe creativity should be accessible to everyone. If you feel your child would benefit from one of our workshops but financial circumstances make this difficult, please get in touch with us in confidence. Through our Pay It Forward scheme, we may be able to offer supported places, and we would hate for anyone to miss out on the benefits of creativity due to cost. Equally, if you are in a position to contribute towards our Pay It Forward scheme and help another child access our workshops, we would love to hear from you.
