Sketchbooks can sometimes feel overwhelming, but they are one of the most important tools for developing ideas, demonstrating creativity, and achieving success in GCSE Art. This supportive workshop is designed to help students build confidence in their sketchbook practice while developing the skills that examiners are looking for.

Bring your current sketchbook along, or start fresh with one of our guided mini-projects designed to explore creative layouts and presentation techniques. Together, we’ll look at topics such as page composition, artist research pages, annotation, idea development, experimentation, and presenting work effectively.

The sessions are tailored to individual needs, allowing students to focus on the areas they find most challenging. Whether that’s understanding how to structure a project, creating engaging artist studies, generating ideas, improving drawing skills, or developing more personal responses, support is available every step of the way.

More than simply improving a sketchbook, these workshops help students learn how to think like artists—developing confidence, independence, and a stronger creative process that will support both coursework and future artistic growth.

We believe creativity should be accessible to everyone. If you feel your child would benefit from one of our workshops but financial circumstances make this difficult, please get in touch with us in confidence. Through our Pay It Forward scheme, we may be able to offer supported places, and we would hate for anyone to miss out on the benefits of creativity due to cost. Equally, if you are in a position to contribute towards our Pay It Forward scheme and help another child access our workshops, we would love to hear from you.
