Step into the role of illustrator, inventor, and storyteller in this exciting full-day workshop where young artists will design their very own collectible creature cards. Inspired by the world of Pokémon, children will learn how to combine imagination with strong design skills to create characters that feel powerful, original, and alive.
Throughout the day, participants will explore character design, drawing techniques, colour theory, and layout composition, discovering how images and text work together to tell a visual story. They’ll think about special powers, habitats, symbols, and personality traits—learning how thoughtful details make a character believable and engaging.
This workshop isn’t just about making cool cards. It’s about developing creative confidence, understanding the principles of design, and turning big ideas into finished artwork. Children will be encouraged to experiment, refine, and take pride in their unique creations.
By the end of the day, each artist will leave with a professionally presented set of original creature cards—and the knowledge that their imagination is their greatest superpower.
For our longer days, please bring lunch with you to enjoy in the studio or you can take a walk down the High Street where there are a couple of cafes to choose from if you’re old enough to go on your own.
Please book this workshop on Eventbrite.
Please see more information on the people behind Arty Farty Retreat, our safeguarding policy and our refund policy.
