Step out of the everyday and into something slower, quieter, and beautifully hands-on. Clay After Dark is a welcoming evening pottery class for intermediate makers ready to explore the creative possibilities of handbuilding.

Over the course of the term, you’ll deepen your understanding of form, structure, and surface, learning how to shape with intention and refine your technique. Whether you’re coiling, slab-building, or sculpting, each piece you make becomes part of a journey—towards greater skill, confidence, and personal expression.

But this isn’t just about clay. It’s about carving out time for yourself. It’s about reconnecting with the rhythm of your hands, finding calm through focused making, and being part of a community that values curiosity and creativity.

Expect relaxed, supportive evenings filled with conversation, experimentation, and the quiet joy of turning earth into art. You’ll be in the very capable hands of Cheryl, our resident potter. Find out more about our Arty Farty SmARTys, including Cheryl, here.

Once fired in the kiln you can then paint and glaze your creation before it is fired for a final time. You don’t have to attend all the workshops but please note that your clay creation will need to be fired before it is painted and glazed. With that in mind, it is recommended that a minimum of two sessions are attended.

Please note, due to rising energy costs, we are now not running the kiln until it is full so your beautiful sculptures may not be ready the next week. We will let you know when your pieces are out of the kiln.

To book the workshops please book here via Eventbrite.
