Discover the beauty of traditional craftsmanship in this fun and hands-on Japanese Bookbinding Workshop for Kids! In this 4-hour creative session, children will learn how to make their own stunning book using the Japanese stab binding method – a decorative and easy-to-learn stitching technique.
We’ll start by introducing the materials and tools in a safe, child-friendly way. Step by step, children will fold their pages, design a colourful cover, and stitch everything together using a simple yet striking binding pattern. Once the books are bound, there will be plenty of time to decorate them with stamps, tape, drawings, or even Japanese-inspired patterns and characters.
Each child will take home a beautiful handmade book, perfect for drawing, journaling, or giving as a gift.
No experience needed and all materials provided. Just bring your creativity – and a packed lunch!
