Spring Season

Rachel Moore, from I Printed That, a Kent based artist and printmaker who has been running pop-up workshops for children and adults since 2011, is coming to Arty Farty Retreat with the following exciting workshops!  You can find out more about Rachel on our Arty Farty SmARTys page.

Learn to screen print
Friday 27th March
6:30pm – 9pm
£25 per person

This is a fun and practical printmaking workshop where you will learn how to transfer an image to a stencil and experiment with overlays and multicolours to produce a perfect print onto a canvas tote bag.

The beauty of screen printing is that you don’t even have to be naturally artistic to get professional looking results. You can print off a design from your computer and if you can trace the image and cut it out then you’ll be able to print it!

No previous printing experience is required. Suitable for adults and children aged 12+

Notes about the workshop: All you need to bring is a design to work from, this can be hand drawn or a print out from your computer. You will be cutting the image out to make a stencil so try not to make it too complicated.

Please note the maximum size of the design is 30cm x 30cm. All printing materials are supplied. Prints are permanent after ironing and fully washable up to 40oC.

Wednesday 3rd June
6:30pm – 9pm
£25 per person

This is potato printing for grown-ups! In this workshop you’ll learn how to create a linocut to produce a repeat pattern or a one-off motif. Experiment with overlays in different colours and at the end of the workshop take your lino home to use again and again.

You will work on postcard size lino tiles (approx. 15cm x 10cm) and there will be a variety of paper and greetings cards for you print onto.

No previous printing experience is required. Suitable for adults and children aged 14+.  All materials, equipment, inks and refreshments are provided.

Print & Prosecco – Monotype and Gelli printing
Friday 18th September
7pm – 9pm
£25 per person

Adults 18+ only

Start the evening with a complimentary glass of prosecco then release your inner artist as you immerse yourself in Gelli printing, a type of mono printing that uses flexible printing plates. Layer colours and experiment with designs and textures to produce natural and pop-art inspired prints. It promises to be creative, fun, messy and at times a tad unpredictable! There’s plenty of time for playing and chatting whilst you create lots of different prints to take home.

No previous printing experience is required. Over 18s only.

To book any of our workshops please book online via eventbrite.  Alternatively, please call or email: 07792 033 156 or enquiries@artyfartyretreat.co.uk
