Who were the impressionists? What techniques did they use? During this week we will explore The Impressionist movement, find out what inspired them and use various mediums to try it out!

Radicals in their time, early Impressionists violated the rules of academic painting. They constructed their pictures from freely brushed colours that took precedence over lines and contours. Who knows we might find the next Monet!

The impressionists were inspired by nature and the outdoors a lot! So (weather dependent) we will be taking ourselves outside to explore some of the nature of Southborough to be inspired and paint plein air!

Please bring lunch with you to enjoy in the studio or you can take a walk down the High Street where there are a couple of cafes to choose from if you’re old enough to go on your own.

To book any of our workshops please book via eventbrite.  You can ring 07792 033 156, or email nell@artyfartyretreat.co.uk.

Please see more information on the people behind Arty Farty Retreat, our safeguarding policy and our refund policy.
